Interventional Imaging, Inc. (I3MRI) is a development-stage medical device company focused on vascular imaging and interventions such as the detection and treatment of vulnerable plaque in the coronary arteries of the heart. I3MRI was formed in collaboration with the Case Western Reserve University and is based on proprietary technologies developed in the Department of Radiology at University Hospitals of Cleveland by the Company's scientific founders, Drs. Jonathan Lewin and Jeffery Duerk.

I3MRI's proprietary technology platform consists of small disposable magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) coil catheters with related software that are used to obtain high-resolution images of the coronary arteries and to treat vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques, or plaques which have a high risk of rupturing and causing heart attack or stroke. The catheters are patterned after conventional cardiac catheters.

The company is developing a product suite that focuses on two distinctly different, but specific segments of the high growth interventional cardiology MR image-guided market. Two products currently under development are an Atrial Fibrillation Catheter and a Cardiovascular Imaging Catheter.

I3's Atrial Fibrillation Catheter is a catheter with ablation capabilities using RF energy and proprietary MR imaging micro-coils that allow the cardiologist to make significant progress in correcting the abnormal electrical activity in cardiac tissue that causes Atrial Fibrillation.

The Cardiovascular Imaging Catheter is a catheter with features that allow rapid procedure time while maintaining image quality and offering more specific information on plaque location and composition. Clinicians and researchers have discovered it is possible to intervene in the disease process before the deposits in the coronary arteries, called plaque, have "hardened" to become blocked blood vessels. At this earlier stage, the plaque is still soft and vulnerable to sudden rupture. Vulnerable plaque is the leading cause of heart attacks. Currently no reliable method exists to identify the location and presence of vulnerable plaque. I3 has technology to reliably identify the location and composition of vulnerable plaque thus enabling its treatment.

The Company's technology platform can be leveraged to develop and build tracking, imaging and interventional MR catheters.
